Welcome to the Southwest Twin Town Center

The City of Memphis through Housing and Community Development Division is developing 17.42 acres of City-owned land formerly occupied by the Southwest Twin Drive-in. The site is located at the intersection of Highway 61 and W Raines Rd in City Council District 6, southwest of the city core of Memphis.

The project will include a new police precinct and fleet management facility, a new public library, and the adaptive reuse of the existing pavilion as a community gathering place, as well as site and infrastructure improvements.

The site will have ample parking, but also will include walking trails and sidewalks that provide connectivity throughout the site.

LIBRARY

The library building is to be a new ground-up building that will be approximately 13,000 sq. ft. of interior space and surrounded on all four sides by pedestrian spaces.

The library will include classrooms, teen spaces for gaming and recording opportunities, children’s art spaces along with traditional library offerings.

POLICE FACILITY

The new police facility will be approximately 25,000 sq. ft. and will provide office space and conference rooms as well as a community room with a separate entrance.

Additionally, there will be a new 8,000 sq. ft. fleet services maintenance building with eleven (11) vehicle service bays. The gross square footage will be 8,024 SF.

PAVILION

An existing 10,000 sq. ft. covered pavilion, which has been the site for recent community activities will be reimagined as a central gathering place for the site.
